Happy Birthday, Claire! Request for information: Rehearsal Scheduling. Let's start with some information for you: Rehearsals for Happy Birthday, Claire! will begin with a table read and light rehearsals in late April and really get under way May through to the 2019 Ottawa Fringe Festival in mid June. Very likely, rehearsals will work out to one or two evenings a week, plus one or two weekend days. We will lock in a rehearsal schedule in a week or so (you'll see it before committing to the production) but we want to remain open to partially tailoring it to what works best for our cast, so we're asking for your scheduling availability now. (Note: What you input below will have minimal effect on casting choices, though it may have some -- I have run a production before where people were missing for one scheduling reason or another, it’s less fun than you’d think. It's okay if you don't have full information yet, just make us as aware as possible of what may come up.) ADDITIONAL COMMITMENTS The Ottawa Fringe Festival runs June 13th through 23rd and we will have six (possibly seven) shows during that period. We have zero control over our schedule and it is your responsibility (if cast) to keep all show dates free - plus two hours in advance of each. Shows may be set between 5pm and 11pm on weekdays and 1pm and 11pm on weekends. Tech day will be a three hour block, somewhere between June 11 and June 14. Again, this is set by the Festival and we have no control over when it happens. This may take place during the day time and if you have a regular day job you will be required to take that day off. Missing tech day is non-optional. We may or may not have show and tech dates available before asking you to commit to the production. It is up to you to make sure you have proper availability if cast. And now the form: Let's start with the dream: what would be your ideal rehearsal schedule, assuming evening rehearsals would run 6pm-10pm, and daytime rehearsals would run 12-8 or 2-10? Would you prefer days, evenings? Which ones? Don't care or don't know? That's okay, too. What are your minor scheduling conflicts? These are the days or times that you would prefer not to book or that would require notice/consideration for you to make available for production activities. What are your major scheduling conflicts? These are the days or times that you would be unable to be booked for any production activities due to unchangeable plans or commitments. Working a day job and so not being able to rehearse any weekdays before 5pm or after 11pm, for example. What is your general geographic area (major intersection is fine, we don't need your actual address)? This information is primarily to allow us to weigh choosing one rehearsal location over another in the event we're blessed with options. (While I personally don't want to spend the entire rehearsal process at Orleans Taekwondo, there is every chance we'll be spending some of it there.) Hey, let's dream again. What's your ideal rehearsal location? Your living room is a perfectly valid answer... if you've got 12' by 16' or more free space to do it. Anything we've missed? Anything else you want to say? We're friends now, you can tell us. By the way we'll also need this: Your Name Your Email Δ
